For Performers & Writers
Cleveland Public Theatre produces approximately 12 plays a year, placing an emphasis on producing adventurous plays that
are somehow outside the mainstream -- politically, aesthetically, socially. We seek works that challenge and amaze and are
especially interested in works by minorities and women (Northeastern Ohio).
Cleveland Public Theatre is committed to fostering the work of area playwrights and performers and continues to seek ways to
support new and local work. CPT serves developing work at different stages through Big Box, Springboard, Leap/Conceive,
The Dark Room and the Nord Playwright Residency. Occurring throughout the season, each development series will focus on different
aspects of the development process and needs of individual artists.
NEW!-- We have combined the proposal process for Springboard, Leap/Conceive and Big Box. Rather than submit separate applications,
as in years past, artists are welcome to apply for one, two or all three of CPT's development series in one submission. Our goal
in combining the proposal process is to encourage artists to evaluate the current state of their project and select the series,
or multiple series, that will best support the growth of their project throughout CPT's 13/14 Season.
