Cleveland Public Theatre proud to announce Conni's Avant Garde Restaurant won two New York Innovative Theatre Awards

Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan is proud to announce Cleveland Public Theatre partner performance ensemble Conni's Avant Garde Restaurant was awarded twice at the New York Innovative Theatre Awards, for Outstanding Ensemble and for Outstanding Performance Art Production. For the past two years Conni's Avant Garde Restaurant has performed their signature show at CPT serving up not only great entertainment, but also fantastic food. CPT is excited to be working with this innovative ensemble once again this season in a whole new way; four artists from the Conni's are working with six Cleveland actors to create a whole new show, The Secret Social opening December 2012.

"Conni's really fit our aesthetic here - wild and daring, but also a memorable night at the theatre," says Executive Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan. "This season, they are offering their magic with Cleveland in a whole new way, by sharing their techniques and values with actors, and developing a whole new show inspired by CPT's unique buildings, the Gordon Square Arts District, and Cleveland's unique heritage. These awards are well deserved, and we are proud to be associated with this remarkable company!"

The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation was created to bring recognition to the great work being done in New York City's Off-Off-Broadway, to honor its artistic heritage, and to provide a meeting ground for this extensive community.
