Raymond Bobgan announces Request for Projects for 09-10 season
CPT Executive Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan is beginning to put together the 2009-2010 CPT season and is looking for strong creative projects. Artists who have a project that fits CPT and what we are all about are encouraged to submit materials before November 30th.

CPT announces the 25th Anniversary Season: Alive
Cleveland Public Theatre Executive Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan is proud to announce the 2008-2009, 25th anniversary season:
Alive -- A celebration of premiere performance and original work
"Cleveland Public Theatre is the place for bold, new, adventurous and relevant works of performance," says Bobgan. "Our exciting line-up includes amazing new works from great American playwrights and home-grown premieres of national stature." The 08-09 season includes 4 World Premieres, 3 Ohio premieres, the 8th year of Big [BOX], the return of Little Box and CPT's acclaimed performance series DanceWorks.

As part of CPT's commitment to local playwrights and producers, CPT presents the second year of Little Box, a series of staged readings of new work in development. New works by Andrew Kramer, Steve Maistros, Tara Broeckel Ooten, Adrienne Gosselin, Jeffrey Grover and Mike Geither will be featured. Little Box is modeled after CPT's successful Big [BOX] Series but on a smaller scale.
Raymond Bobgan and Cleveland area artists travel to Turkey
CPT Executive Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan recently spent a week in Istanbul with a group of Cleveland-area arts professionals. The trip launched a year of working with Turkish artists and teachers to develop arts programs for urban youth in Turkey.
CPT partners with Cuyahoga County Public Libraries to present special Goldstar, Ohio events
Join Cleveland Public Theatre and Cuyahoga County Public Library for two special events, in conjunction with CPT's presentation of Goldstar, Ohio, featuring Andy Paris, the play's director; Michael Tisdale, the playwright; actors from the company performing excerpts; a grief counselor from Cornerstone of Hope; and a representative from the Library of Congress' Veterans History Project, along with other special guests.

Senator Sherrod Brown stopped by Cleveland Public Theatre earlier this week to facilitate a roundtable discussion with Cleveland's arts leaders.
STEP 08 opens July 31
CPT Executive Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan is proud to present Free Family Theatre in the Parks! The teens of the Student Theatre Enrichment Program (STEP) present an original play with drums and dance inspired by Mother Courage and Her Children by Bertolt Brecht. This original work will be presented free of charge at parks throughout the city of Cleveland from July 31 - August 10. Free and open to the public! Fun for the whole family!
CPT Awarded NEA Grant
Cleveland Public Theatre receives a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to support the spring 2008 presentation of two works by Nobel Prize Winner Gao Xingjian.
