Directed by Mike Herzfeld
Featuring: Allen Branstein, John Busser, Lauren Fraley, Layla Schwartz, and Luke Wehner

Based on true events that occurred in NE Ohio approximately 7 years ago, Sean, a young man with a troubled family life, picked the wrong night to go driving with his friends after a powerful tornado ravaged entire neighborhoods. After the devastating catastrophe rips the town to shreds, Sean and his drinking buddies loot the abandoned homes. After a media frenzy and a difficult trial , Sean is tormented in his jail cell by Fujita, the personification of the tornado that raged through Sean's hometown.

Sean finds himself in a confinement that is far from solitary. Fujita, acting as ringmaster, forces Sean to participate in farcical re-enactments of his childhood, the arrest, and the trial. Perhaps his only salvation is Ginger, his artist girlfriend, who just can't get his portrait right.

Matt Herzfeld has a BA in Creative Writing from Columbia University, where he participated in numerous theater productions as a writer, actor, or director. His play, And They Danced Until Dawn, was performed as part of the Kids Playwriting Festival at Dobama. For two seasons, Matt was the dramaturgical intern with The Actors Company Theatre in New York. Matt is delighted to be involved in CPT's Little Box series. This is his first public reading, and he promises it will be over soon.

Little Box, a series of staged readings of new work in development, is a part of CPT's commitment to local playwrights and producers. Now in its fourth year, Little Box is modeled after CPT's successful Big [BOX] Series but on a smaller scale, designed to foster works at an earlier stage of development.

Please note that tickets for Little Box are $10 General Admission and there is a $2 Discount for Students and Seniors.
