Box Office

Our online checkout process is experiencing some system slowness. If you are having trouble purchasing a ticket, please leave a voicemail with our Box Office (216.631.2727 ext. 501) or email Jaclyn Vogel, Director of Patron Services (, and we will get back to you within one business day.

Hey! We’re excited! As of July 5, we upgraded our ticketing system, and the checkout process will look a little different. Whether you had a previous account with us or not, you can move through the process with just your email.

Physical Box Office Hours

On performance nights, our Box Office opens at 6:00pm and stays open until 15 minutes after our latest show starts. Performance nights are typically Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday, but vary depending on show.

Ticket Exchanges and Refunds

You can exchange your ticket to a different performance of same show with 24 hours’ notice. All sales are final.

Inclement weather/Cancellations

In the unlikely event of a cancellation, we will do our best to contact you and arrange for a ticket exchange to a different performance, or a refund.

General Admission Seating

Nearly all of our performances are General Admission: first come, first seated. Lobbies generally open 45 minutes prior to curtain time, while seating generally begins at 30 minutes to curtain.

Late Seating

Due to our unorthodox use of performance spaces, some shows feature limited or no late seating. All late seating is done at the discretion of CPT staff.

Playwrights Welcome

Playwrights Welcome is a new program providing free access to theatre for Dramatists Guild of America Members, developed by Samuel French along with Dramatists Play Service, Dramatic Publishing, Music Theatre International, Playscripts and Rodgers and Hammerstein. The goal is simple: to provide free access to theatre for playwrights, composers and lyricists. For more information, click here.

Dress for Adventure

Some patrons come dressed for a night on the town, some come in a t-shirt and jeans. The most important thing is that everyone has a great time at the theatre.

Gift Cards

Want to give the gift of theatre to a friend or family member? Cleveland Public Theatre offers prepaid gift cards. Gift cards can be purchased over the phone during box office hours or at the box office on show nights. All gift cards will be valid for two years after purchase.

Cleveland Public Theatre continues our facilities renovation with the goal of making our campus as accessible as possible. The Gordon Square Theatre and newly-renovated James Levin Theatre are fully ADA compliant, featuring a patron elevator and an all gender, wheelchair accessible restroom. Due to the historic nature of the Church and Parish Hall buildings, these venues are not currently accessible. We are always happy to accommodate your accessibility needs to the best of our ability. You can make accessibility requests by calling the Box Office and online when purchasing a ticket.
