"Exact Change" is the powerful and personal story of noted Cleveland actor, journalist and critic Christine Howey (formerly Dick Howey). Before undergoing her gender transition in 1990, Ms. Howey was a celebrated stage actor in Cleveland, known for playing such heavy-hitting male roles as Lucifer, Goebbels, "Terrible Jim Fitch," Richard Nixon, God and others. Written and performed by Howey, "Exact Change" is a stunning one-woman tour de force about finding your voice and championing your identity.

“Funny, fierce, bawdy and smart…Howey commands the stage, hurling lighting strikes of emotion and insight.” (Dee Perry, senior host and producer at 90.3 WCPN Ideastream)

christinenoelleWhy I’m Proud of My Transgender Dad and the Woman She’s Become

By Noelle Howey

“If you passed my dad on the street today, you might not notice her. She’d likely be wearing one of her tasteful flowing tunics, black slacks, loafers with excellent arch support, and her wavy brown wig, which allows just a touch of her grey hair to peek out at the temples. At 69, she jokes, she is a typical older woman – virtually invisible.

But I think she has never looked more beautiful: She is a transgender woman completely at home in her own skin.”
