The Dark Room
The Dark Room at CPT on October 12!
The Dark Room is a place where writers take center stage, and their work has a chance to grow. Held on the second Tuesday of every month, this ongoing event affords emerging and veteran writers the space and resources to develop new works. The Dark Room offers a venue to workshop plays, poems, screenplays, or other written work in a supportive yet critical environment.
The Dark Room is presented open mic style. Writers can bring up to 10 pages of new work to be considered – writing submissions are first-come, first-presented until all slots are filled.
Interested actors are cast on the spot and read each piece cold to an audience of other artists and attendees who offer feedback to participants.
And don’t forget – FREE Beer!
Suggested donation of $5 is welcomed at the door, but not required.
Occasionally, The Dark Room will present a longer selection from a featured writer. If you are interested in being a featured writer, please send a 20-30 page script selection along with a short bio, cast requirements, descriptions of the characters, and a synopsis of the piece to Mindy Herman and John Busser.
