Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) is hiring a Marketing Coordinator with one to three years of experience to join the Audience Engagement Department. They will work closely with the Director of Audience Engagement & Marketing (DoAEM) to ensure consistent branding across marketing materials. The Marketing Coordinator will create and deploy weekly eblasts, update the website, create social media posts, and perform other duties as assigned. They will also offer input and assist the DoAEM implement marketing campaigns.
The person in this role is a confident self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team. They maintain strict confidentiality regarding company data, demonstrate high integrity, loyalty, and professional accountability while building trustworthy trusting relationships with peers and leadership, and handle sensitive information with care and discretion. They can also thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
The annual salary range is $46,000 to $48,000, depending on experience, with an expected schedule averaging 45 hours per week.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Marketing Coordinator is a salaried position reporting to the Director of Audience Engagement & Marketing (DoAEM). The coordinator helps meet departmental goals by building audiences and expanding the reach of CPT’s artistic and education programming and fundraising efforts, regionally and nationally. CPT’s audience engagement work goes beyond ticket sales to bring together the many communities of Greater Cleveland.
The person in this position is responsible for supporting CPT’s audience engagement and marketing activities and initiatives through email, social media, the website, and other channels. The coordinator also works inter-departmentally to create audience engagement materials for all departments and events. The coordinator also works with the DoAEM to create audience engagement and marketing materials for CPT’s internal companies Teatro Público de Cleveland, Masrah Cleveland Al-Arabi, and Cleveland CORE Ensemble.
The ideal candidate is adept at creating compelling digital content, including social media posts and email campaigns. They have experience with website management software like WordPress. This position requires strong organizational abilities, patience and flexibility, attention to detail, a passion for the arts and CPT’s mission, and a desire to grow and learn new skills. The successful candidate will be collaborative and able to work independently, imaginative, organized, adaptable, receptive to feedback and willing to take initiative, and have experience working with a diverse range of constituents.
Education Requirements
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in marketing or digital marketing, at least one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Digital marketing experience and basic graphic design and layout skills are highly desirable. We will also consider candidates with an education in graphic design and proven marketing experience.
Responsibilities include the following, as well as other duties as assigned:
• Develop robust content-rich materials for CPT’s patron emails, and manage distribution of electronic newsletters and pre- and post-show patron emails.
• Create and update website content.
• Create graphics using Canva or other software for digital and online platforms.
• Occasionally assist with the layout of print materials.
• Work with the DoAEM to create a marketing calendar for the season.
• Proofread marketing materials with the Audience Engagement team and other departments.
• Provide support and assistance to the Director of Audience Engagement & Marketing for audience engagement initiatives and other duties related to audience development and the marketing of CPT productions and events.
• Take photos and cell phone videos for CPT events at opening weekends, community meetings, and promotional events (some nights and weekends are required).
• Apply a keen understanding of what makes compelling content for diverse audiences.
• Nurture and develop relationships with artists, vendors, and community partners, including interviewing artists and staff for behind-the-scenes features for upcoming shows and initiatives.
• Research and implement new methods of reaching audiences.
• Create marketing reports on social media and email metrics.
• Help to install promotional displays such as posters.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Experience creating and distributing e-newsletters; familiarity with e-newsletter platforms, WordPress, and/or basic HTML.
• Familiarity with Mailchimp or other e-marketing software.
• Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
• Project management skills.
• Writing and content creation skills.
• Exceptional proofreading skills.
• Digital video editing skills.
• Deadline-driven and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
• Basic Experience with InDesign, Canva, and/or Adobe Illustrator; Vimeo; search engine optimization (SEO); CRM systems; and SMS marketing.
• Experience with social media scheduling software.
Skills that are a plus
• While CPT’s productions are primarily in English, the theatre is home to Teatro Público de Cleveland, the theatre’s Latine theatre company, and Masrah Cleveland Al-Arabi, CPT’s theatre celebrating the Arabic-speaking community; thus, fluency in Spanish or Arabic is a huge plus.
