Station Hope Artist Informational Meeting: You’re Invited!

Dear Northeast Ohio Artists,

Last year on April 26th, 2014, 150 artists and over 2,000 attendees gathered to celebrate the triumphs of the Underground Railroad and explore contemporary issues of Social Justice at St. John’s Church in Ohio City for the inaugural Station Hope.

“Station Hope is a true gathering of community and demonstrates
how transformative and powerful an arts experience can be,
and its potential to change the fabric of our society.”
—Hon. Joe Cimperman, Ward 3 Councilman

We are beginning to plan the second annual Station Hope event, a one night festival of entertainment and art that commemorates St. John’s Church and the Underground Railroad and connects this powerful history with today, and CPT would like to invite you to be involved. Station Hope 2015 is scheduled for May 9th.

The format of Station Hope is modeled after CPT’s annual benefit, Pandemonium; multiple stages with 10-15 minute pieces performing simultaneously throughout the evening.

CPT is looking for artists, performance groups, choirs and organizations to create original work and perform at this powerful event. Performances can range from site-specific plays, actors in character wandering through the event, or your church choir singing. We are also seeking visual artists who are interested in creating community generated art and installations.

If you are interested in learning more about Station Hope, you are invited to an informational meeting on Saturday, December 6th at 10am at Cleveland Public Theatre. We will be discussing how Station Hope worked last year, how it may grow this year and sharing information about the application process.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP by December 2nd to clewins@cptonline.org.

Thank you for your consideration and attention. We hope you can be a part of this incredible event.
