CPT is Hiring a Technical Director

Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) is hiring a Technical Director, which is a core part of the CPT staff and will make a meaningful contribution to life at CPT and its success. CPT will be accepting applications for this position until the role is filled, with a start date goal between 1/1/22 and 2/15/22. 

Technical Director Job Description 

CPT is hiring a Technical Director (TD). This role requires leadership and initiative and reports to the Executive Artistic Director (EAD). This is a senior staff role participating in leading the theatre and supporting the EAD in strategy and decision-making.  

The TD manages and implements all technical aspects of productions, except costumes, for CPT’s season, consisting of 6-12 full productions, 2-4 new work development series, 2 multi-site special events, and other artistic projects. CPT programs in two theatres, various onsite studios, and occasionally produces work offsite in nontraditional spaces. The TD will lead the rebuilding of this department and will work with the EAD and the artistic department to grow capacity. For the 2021/2022 Season, the TD oversees and works with CPT’s Technical Associate and a limited number of over-hire technicians to implement all sets, lighting, video, and sound installations. The TD is responsible for oversight of CPT’s scene shop and technical equipment. The TD is also offered opportunities to work as a designer. Candidates must have four years full-time technical theatre work (or equivalent as a freelancer) with excellent technical skills in the following areas:  sound technician, master electrician, and set construction. Expertise in some of the following skills is also a plus: sound design, lighting design/video design/implementation, and scenic design. The successful candidate will be collaborative, eager to learn new ways of working, service oriented, and highly self-motivated.  

Salary range is $46k to $54k, commensurate with experience. CPT offers a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, vacation pay, and paid sick time/personal days.

House Management Position at Cleveland Public Theatre

Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) is currently looking for a House Manager for our 2021/2022 season. This role is responsible for ensuring the best experience for all patrons and providing accurate records to CPT staff. Candidates must be outgoing, detail-oriented problem solvers who can work calmly under pressure.

Hours will depend on production schedules, but will involve Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Monday evenings for approximately 4-6 hours per night between late November 2021 and May 2022. House Managers may also be asked to work special events and occasional Sunday and Wednesday shifts. This is a part-time, seasonal position from November 2021 to May 2022.

Pay is $11.00/hour.

Cleveland Public Theatre is currently looking for Bartenders/Front of House Staff for our 2021/2022 season. CPT Bartenders are passionate about the arts, Cleveland, and positive change in their community. Beyond being responsible for selling refreshments to our patrons, our Bartenders are expected to be knowledgeable about Cleveland Public Theatre, our performances and programs, and the Gordon Square Arts District. Bartending and serving/customer service experience are preferred.

Parking Lot Attendant Position at Cleveland Public Theatre

Cleveland Public Theatre is currently looking for a Parking Lot Attendant for our 2021/2022 season. The CPT Parking Lot Attendant will be responsible for handling cash transactions for parking, being knowledgeable about current performances at Cleveland Public Theatre and in the Gordon Square Arts District, and keeping watch over the CPT parking lot. Cash handling and customer service experience is preferred.

Hours will depend on production schedules, but will typically involve Friday and Saturday evenings from 5pm to 9pm with potentially some shifts on weekdays or Sundays. This is a seasonal part-time position from November 2021 to June 2022.

Pay is $10/hour.

Job description

The Associate Artistic Director (AAD) oversees and facilitates the day-to-day artistic operations of the theatre while supporting the Executive Artistic Director (EAD) in creating a groundbreaking season that seeks to raise consciousness and nurture compassion. The AAD establishes and maintains excellent communications with artists and within the theatre to manage flow of information, allotment of resources, and management of the season. The AAD also serves as a public face of CPT both locally and nationally. Reporting to the Executive Artistic Director, the AAD is a key member of the senior management team and works closely with the General Manager, Education Director, Director Organizational Advancement, Director of Audience Engagement and Media Relations, and the Technical Director.

De esta forma, CPT ha eliminado el boleto de valor estándar, dando al público la opción de elegir el valor del mismo, al momento de comprar sus boletos.

CPT implementó su procedimiento Escoge tu Precio hace más de 15 años, considerando que el arte no debe tener barreras, mucho menos barreras económicas. En temporadas anteriores, estos boletos solo se podían adquirir en Boletería antes de cada función. A partir de esta temporada, TODO BOLETO será Choose What You Pay (Escoge tu Precio) para compras de boletos en internet, por teléfono o en Boletería, y pueden ser adquiridos en cualquier momento.

Boletos se pueden comprar por línea o por teléfono 216.631.2727 ext. 501. Tenga en cuenta: Los teléfonos de la boletería están abiertos de 2:00 pm a 5:00 pm, miércoles, jueves, viernes y sábado.

La boletera de Cleveland Public Theatre esta ubicada en 6415 Detroit Ave., Cleveland, OH 44102 y, a menos que se indique lo contrario, todas las funciones serán adentro del campus de CPT. La boletera abre a las 6:00 pm y permanece abierta 15 minutos después de que comience la última función de la noche. Días de programación usualmente son los jueves, viernes, sábados y lunes, con selectas matinés los domingos, dependiendo la función.
